Music

Music is a very important part of our school life at St Joseph’ s, be it through worship, in class music lessons, individual instrument lessons or through the many music clubs available to our children.  There are also many opportunities for children to perform to each other and to their families and friends.

KS2 CHOIR have performed in many venues within Oxford  - Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford Town Hall, Oxford Music Festival, and further afield at the Royal Albert Hall - London, O2 Arena – London, Dorchester Abbey and Birmingham Symphony Hall. KS2 CHOIR & ST JOSEPH’S ORCHESTRA performed together at the National Music Festival.  They were invited to perform at BIRMINGHAM SYMPHONY HALL and received an “Oustanding Award”. Each year EYFS/KS1 perform their Christmas Nativity to family and friends.  Year 3 & 4 perform a musical and Year 5 & 6 also perform a musical.  There are instrumental concerts and also our “Big Bash Concert” at which the KS2 Choir, Orchestra and Rock Band all join forces together for an amazing evening. The Rock Band has performed on many occasions over the past few years, including some collaborations with the KS2 Choir and even the staff!  We hope to start the Rock Band again after half-term, where it will be held on a Monday after school.
