Drama and Performance
We know that drama is an essential part of the curriculum. We include drama and performance throughout a child's time at St Joseph's, ensuring that all children get a chance to participate.
Opportunities for Performance:
Autumn Term
Reception - Nativity with songs
Year 1 - Christmas Story production with songs
Year 2 - An immersive production of the Christmas Story with songs
Spring Term
Year 3 - Performance (choral public speaking and music)
Year 4 - Play linked to history topic with songs and solo opportunities
Summer Term
Year 5 and Year 6 - end of year performance - either a play or musical with solo opportunities
Public Speaking
We have public speaking lessons from Year 1-6 to develop pupil's confidence and ability to project and use their voices - whether this is reading in assembly or Mass, or when they are performing on stage. Please see this link for further information on public speaking at our school.
