PE Competitions and Tournaments

Sporting competitions are an important opportunity for pupils to represent the school, especially in Key Stage 2.  It is our aim to ensure that every child represents the school at something in their time at St Joseph's, be it swimming,  athletics, football, hockey or another sport.

Children all get the chance to compete, and within this, good sporting behaviour is insisted upon! Most 'Complete PE' (see curriculum page here) games units have an intra-school competition at the end where children are in a tournament amongst themselves. We also enter events against other schools locally. 

2023-2024 Tournaments and Competitions:

Year 6 Boys Football - Manor Cup and Open 7 Finals (October 2023 match against St Michael's School. November 2023 matches against John Hampden School, Windmill School and Pegasus School.  March 2024 match against Our Lady's Cowley)

Year 5/6 Girls Football - Manor Cup and Open 7 Finals (March 2024 Finals event hosted by Oxford City. March 2024 matches against St Michael's School and St Nicholas's School)

Cricket - June 2024 Year 5 and 6 tournament hosted by Headington School
